Sheffield's last tram

Saturday 08 October 1960 was the final day of Sheffield’s first-generation tramway system.

This image, from the National Tramway Museum’s archives, shows tramcar no. 509 at Cole’s Corner on that final day.

Similar tramcar no. 510, Sheffield’s official ‘last tramcar’, is now preserved at the National Tramway Museum, Crich Tramway Village, Derbyshire.
