Derby Assembly Rooms
The facade from the Assembly Rooms, seen here with Southampton 45 earlier this week, was dismantled and moved from Derby Market Place in the early 1970s and subsequently re-erected at the Museum.
The postcard image, from our extensive collection, shows it in the Market Place in the 1890s.
It's now incorporated into the National Tramway Museum's Library and Archives building.

BBC Filming 'To Buy or Not to Buy'
The BBC daytime property programme To Buy or Not to Buy came to the Museum yesterday to film on Chesterfield 7. The footage will be aired later this year.

Strabag Road-Rail Milling Machine
A state-of-the-art Strabag road-rail milling machine came to the Museum today for a photo opportunity alongside Sheffield 330 and Cardiff 131 - two rail-grinders from the early twentieth century. It is a purpose-built rail head treatment machine manufactured by Linsinger Gmbh of Austria to an order from STRABAG-Rail Gmbh, based in Berlin, Germany.

150 Not Out!
Bank Holiday Monday 31st May saw the celebration of 150 years of Trams in Britain.
Chesterfield 7 emerging from the depot is decorated for the occasion.
